Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Road Construction Safety Lead to take ownership of all safety operations on our road construction projects. This leadership role involves developing safety strategies, managing site safety teams, and ensuring zero-harm outcomes across all work sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continually improve site-specific safety management plans.
- Lead a team of safety officers and inspectors, providing guidance and performance management.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analyses for all construction activities.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and ensure all site personnel are trained in emergency procedures.
- Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of preventive measures.
- Engage with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities on safety matters.
- Prepare and present safety performance reports to senior management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years' experience in road construction safety, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent is required.
- Proven track record of managing safety on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
