Job Summary

We are seeking motivated, technically skilled, and service-oriented Automobile and Mechanical Engineering graduates to join our team under the National Service Scheme (NSS). Successful candidates will be deployed to various locations across Ghana to support our operations in the automotive, mechanical, or industrial sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience, apply theoretical knowledge, and develop practical skills in a professional work environment.

Candidates may be assigned to any of the following locations based on preference and operational needs:

  • Techiman (Bono East Region)
  • Cape Coast (Central Region)
  • Koforidua (Eastern Region)
  • Bolgatanga (Upper East Region)
  • Ho (Volta Region)
  • Bogoso (Western Region)
  • Tepa (Ahafo Region)

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintenance & Repairs (Automobile/Mechanical)

  • Assist in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles, machinery, or mechanical equipment.
  • Perform routine servicing including oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, and tire rotations.
  • Support troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain accurate service records and logs for all work performed.

2. Workshop Operations & Support

  • Assist senior technicians and engineers in daily workshop activities.
  • Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of tools and workshop equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the workshop area.
  • Manage workshop inventory and request spare parts as needed.

3. Installation & Assembly

  • Assist in the installation and assembly of mechanical components and systems.
  • Support the setup and commissioning of equipment at various sites.
  • Ensure all installations meet safety and quality standards.

4. Quality Control & Inspection

  • Conduct inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify faults or wear.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet company standards and safety regulations.
  • Report major faults or recurring issues to supervisors.

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare reports on maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts usage.
  • Maintain accurate service history and job cards for all work carried out.
  • Provide regular feedback to supervisors on equipment performance.

6. Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Identify and report workplace hazards immediately.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • HND in Automobile Engineering.
  • BTech in Automobile Engineering.
  • BTech or BSc in Mechanical Engineering.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a final-year student or recent graduate eligible for the National Service Scheme (NSS) in Ghana.
  • Must not have served NSS previously.

Experience:

  • No prior work experience required, but industrial attachment/internship experience in a garage, workshop, or manufacturing environment is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong foundational knowledge of automobile or mechanical engineering principles.
  • Practical skills in vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.
  • Ability to work in diverse and sometimes remote locations.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing to be deployed to any of the listed locations.
  • Must be prepared to work in field or workshop conditions.
  • A valid driver’s license is an advantage but not mandatory.
