Job Summary:
The Gold Procurement Officer is responsible for the end-to-end sourcing of raw gold from local artisans, small-scale mines, and licensed dealers. This role requires a hands-on approach to field operations, ensuring that all purchases meet the company’s quality standards while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory requirements and ethical sourcing policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing & Fieldwork: Identify, visit, and establish relationships with local mining operations and licensed gold dealers.
  • Vendor Management: Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement while maintaining supply chain integrity.
  • Logistics Coordination: Arrange the safe and timely collection of gold bullion/dust from field locations to the company’s designated assay and secure storage facilities.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct preliminary field assessments of gold samples to verify purity and weight before official assaying.
  • Documentation: Ensure all procurement activities are fully documented in compliance with the Minerals Commission and Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) regulations.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor local market prices, competitor activities, and supply trends to advise management on procurement strategy.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Business Administration, Economics, Geology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in gold trading, mining operations, or commodities procurement.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to remote locations.
  • High level of integrity and transparency.
