Opportunity Description
Vagwena Logistics is seeking reliable, experienced, and professional transport subcontractors to support its coal transportation contract between Witbank, South Africa, and Matola, Mozambique. The company is looking for subcontractors with suitable trucks and the operational capacity to handle bulk coal transportation efficiently, safely, and consistently. Interested transport operators should be prepared to meet the required monthly transport volume and comply with applicable mining, road transport, and cross-border requirements.
Contract Details
- Commodity: Coal
- Main Route: Witbank, South Africa, to Matola, Mozambique
- Required Volume: 10,000 tonnes per month for the following six months
- Main Load Rate: R850 per tonne
- Backload Rate: R350 per tonne
- Fleet Requirement: 15 trucks required
- Diesel: Paid by the transporter
- Border Fees: Paid by the transporter
- Permits: Provided or paid for by the mine, as stated in the advertisement
- Payment Terms: 50/50, as stated in the advertisement
Key Responsibilities
- Provide suitable, roadworthy trucks for coal transportation.
- Transport coal safely and efficiently along the designated route.
- Ensure compliance with road transport, mining, and cross-border regulations.
- Manage fuel, border fees, and other transporter responsibilities.
- Ensure drivers hold the appropriate licenses and comply with safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of loads, deliveries, and transport documentation.
- Meet agreed delivery schedules and monthly volume requirements.
- Communicate effectively with the logistics company and other relevant parties.
- Ensure trucks are properly maintained and available for scheduled operations.
Requirements
- A registered transport company or qualified trucking subcontractor.
- Access to suitable heavy-duty trucks for bulk coal transportation.
- Experience in mining logistics, bulk haulage, or cross-border transportation is preferred.
- Ability to meet the required transport capacity and delivery schedules.
- Valid vehicle, driver, and operating documentation.
- Understanding of cross-border transport procedures and safety compliance.
- Financial and operational capacity to cover the costs assigned to the transporter.
