The role requires a strong hands-on understanding of factory compliances and labour laws, with the ability to independently manage audits, inspections, statutory records, contractors, and plant-level HR operations.

1. FACTORY & STATUTORY COMPLIANCE

  • Ensure end-to-end compliance with applicable Factories Act / Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions (OSHWC) requirements and relevant state rules.
  • Maintain statutory registers, returns, notices, licences and records applicable to the plant.
  • Ensure compliance relating to working hours, overtime, weekly holidays, leave, employment conditions, welfare facilities and worker records.
  • Coordinate with Factory Inspectorate, Labour Department and other statutory authorities during inspections and audits.
  • Track changes in labour legislation and ensure timely implementation at the plant.

2. LABOUR LAW COMPLIANCE

  • Strong working knowledge of PF, ESI, Bonus, Gratuity, Minimum Wages/Wages, Payment of Wages, Contract Labour, Standing Orders, Industrial Disputes and other applicable labour legislation.
  • Ensure timely statutory filings, payments and renewals.
  • Conduct periodic internal compliance reviews and close identified gaps.

3. CONTRACTOR & CONTRACT LABOUR MANAGEMENT

  • Manage manpower supplied through contractors and ensure complete statutory compliance.
  • Verify contractor licences, registrations, wage records, PF/ESI challans, attendance, wage registers and other statutory documents.
  • Conduct periodic Contract Labour Compliance Audits and ensure corrective actions.

4. INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS

  • Manage employee relations and day-to-day industrial relations at the plant.
  • Handle grievances, disciplinary matters, domestic enquiries and employee-related disputes in accordance with applicable law and company policy.
  • Maintain healthy relations with workmen, supervisors and employee representatives/unions, wherever applicable.

5. PLANT HR OPERATIONS

  • Manage manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, transfers, promotions and separations.
  • Monitor attendance, shifts, leave, overtime and payroll inputs.
  • Ensure effective deployment of manpower across plant operations.
  • Work closely with Plant Head and functional heads on workforce productivity and people-related matters.

MUST-HAVE COMPETENCIES

  • Strong and practical knowledge of Factory Act / OSH & Working Conditions compliance.
  • Excellent understanding of plant-level labour law and statutory compliance.
  • Hands-on experience in dealing with Factory Inspectorate and Labour Authorities.
  • Strong knowledge of contract labour compliance and contractor audits.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Qualification:

  • MBA/PGDH – HR / MSW / LLB / equivalent HR qualification.

Experience:

  • 10+ years, preferably in Cement, Steel, Mining, Manufacturing, Infrastructure or other process industries.
