Job Summary

We are hiring a Technical Sales Manager to support and expand our client base within the Human Nutrition and Personal Care
segments. Whether you're a recent graduate in a scientific discipline or an industry-seasoned professional, this role offers a unique opportunity to merge technical knowledge with commercial strategy in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. The position demands frequent travel across Nigeria and the wider West and Sub-Saharan
African regions to engage directly with manufacturers, product developers, and procurement specialists. Your biggest challenge: develop the chemical market in a challenging environment.



Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage client portfolios in the Human Nutrition or Personal Care
industries.
• Promote and sell (semi) specialty food ingredients and additives to the food and
beverage industry, chemicals and raw materials to manufacturers and R&D teams.
• Provide technical guidance on product applications, formulation support, and industry
insights.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including purchasing, formulation,
and technical departments (R&D, NPD).
• Conduct market research to identify new leads and track competitive activity.
• Represent MTHIL at trade shows, exhibitions, and client events across West Africa.
• Liaise with internal teams to ensure efficient order processing and customer
satisfaction.
• Prepare and present sales reports, market intelligence, and forecasts to management.



For Experienced Hires:

• 5+ years of experience in technical sales of food ingredients and additives to the food
and beverage industry, product management, or B2B marketing within the chemical
industry, specifically nutrition, or personal care sectors.
• You have an active and relevant network of clients within the food and beverage
industry.
• Strong track record for sales, client engagement, and industrial applications of food ingredients and chemicals.
• In-depth understanding of applications and food ingredients in human nutrition and/ormpersonal care formulations.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Strong passion for sales, client engagement, and industrial applications of chemicals.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently across West Africa.
• Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

For Entry-Level Candidates:
• B.Sc. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical or Food Engineering,
or a related science-based discipline.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Strong passion for sales, client engagement, and industrial applications of chemicals.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently across West Africa.
• Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills & Attributes
• Strong business acumen and solution-oriented mindset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French or Portuguese is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and across multicultural teams.
