Job Summary
SHAQ EXPRESS is seeking motivated, detail-oriented, and dependable National Service Personnel to join the Warehouse Operations Department. The successful candidate will support the efficient movement and control of parcels throughout the warehouse, from inbound receipt to sorting, inventory management, order fulfilment, returns processing, and dispatch handover. This role offers practical experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, logistics, and supply chain management while ensuring accuracy, safety, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Receive inbound consignments by verifying manifests, counting parcels, and inspecting packaging for damage, tampering, or incorrect labelling.
* Record shortages, excess items, damaged goods, and other discrepancies, escalating unresolved issues before acceptance.
* Label or scan parcels, complete system receipts, and place items in designated storage or staging locations.
* Maintain accurate inventory records, storage locations, and movement logs while conducting routine cycle counts and stock reconciliations.
* Sort and consolidate parcels by branch, destination, route, client, or service priority while ensuring accuracy and preventing mix-ups.
* Pick, pack, inspect, and label fulfilment orders according to approved picking lists and quality standards.
* Process returned parcels by inspecting their condition, recording return reasons, updating inventory systems, and routing items for the appropriate next action.
* Prepare outbound consignments and manifests, ensuring verified parcel counts before handing over to Dispatch, riders, or drivers with documented sign-off.
* Maintain warehouse logs and prepare daily shift reports covering receipts, inventory movements, discrepancies, damages, returns, and outstanding activities.
* Keep warehouse work areas clean, organized, and safe while adhering to parcel security, manual handling, fire safety, and housekeeping procedures.
* Support inventory audits, stock counts, and other warehouse operational activities as assigned.
Requirements
* Eligible to undertake National Service in the 2026/2027 service year and expected to have completed all academic requirements before service begins.
* Bachelor’s degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Warehouse Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
* Ability and willingness to perform physically active warehouse duties, including counting, sorting, packing, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
* Strong numerical skills with the ability to accurately interpret manifests, labels, quantities, order details, and storage location codes.
* Basic proficiency in using computers, smartphones, spreadsheets, barcode scanners, and warehouse or inventory management systems.
* Excellent attention to detail with a high level of integrity when reporting discrepancies.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work according to branch operating schedules and documented handover procedures.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with warehouse, dispatch, and fulfilment teams.
* Commitment to following workplace safety, security, and operational procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
* Internship, attachment, volunteer, or practical experience in warehousing, logistics, supply chain, procurement, retail stock management, or fulfilment operations.
* Experience using barcode scanners, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory software, or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
* Familiarity with order picking, packing, stocktaking, e-commerce fulfilment, inventory reconciliation, or returns processing.
* Training or certification in manual handling, occupational health and safety, warehouse safety, or fire safety procedures.
