The Role
We’re seeking an experienced *Geologist* with *5+ years of hands-on field experience* in mineral exploration and mining operations. You’ll lead geological mapping, core logging, and resource evaluation to support our drilling and development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute field mapping, sampling, and geological surveys
- Log and interpret drill cores, manage QA/QC of geological data
- Build geological models and contribute to resource estimation
- Prepare technical reports and collaborate with mining engineers on pit design
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Supervise junior geologists, field technicians, and contractors on site
- Liaise with government agencies for permits and reporting where required
Requirements
- BSc/HND in Geology, Applied Geology, or related field. MSc is an advantage
- *Minimum 5 years* post-NYSC experience in hard rock/industrial mineral exploration
- Strong field skills: mapping, core logging, trenching, RC/aircore supervision
- Proficient in geological software: ArcGIS/QGIS, Leapfrog, Surpac, or Datamine
- Solid understanding of Nigerian Mining Act and COMEG requirements
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to remote field sites
- COMEG registration or eligibility required
