General Objective
To develop and implement effective systems for resolving mechanical breakdowns, execute planned maintenance strategies, and ensure all plant equipment operates efficiently in line with KPIs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
* Execute and oversee planned maintenance routines for all machinery and equipment during assigned shifts
* Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance activities; analyze data to reduce downtime
* Monitor machine conditions and ensure timely availability of required spare parts
* Develop and implement training programs for mechanical technicians and subordinate staff
* Recommend modifications and improvements to enhance equipment performance and reduce failures
* Identify and communicate training needs for engineering staff and plant operators
* Ensure compliance with maintenance standards, safety procedures, and operational best practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Strong mechanical knowledge of equipment used in utilities, process lines, can plant, and production plant operations
* B. Sc/ HND in Mechanical Engineering
* Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
* Proven ability to manage breakdowns and execute preventive, corrective, and planned maintenance
* Basic understanding of power distribution systems and production equipment planning
* Strong problem-solving and leadership skills

Minimize equipment downtime (target: near-zero breakdowns)
Achieve production targets through high equipment reliability
Effective budget management for spare parts, consumables, and tools
