About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and organized Logistics Executive to manage the end-to-end supply chain operations for our plastics manufacturing unit in Vapi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the inbound movement of raw materials (polymer granules, additives, etc.) and the outbound dispatch of finished plastic products to customers. This role requires strong coordination skills, vendor management, and a thorough understanding of documentation and compliance in the logistics domain.
Key Responsibilities
Dispatch & Transportation Management:
- Plan and coordinate daily dispatch schedules to ensure timely delivery of finished goods to customers.
- Arrange and manage transportation vehicles (trucks, containers) for both inbound and outbound shipments.
- Negotiate freight rates and service levels with transport vendors to optimize costs.
- Track shipments in real-time and provide updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare and verify all shipping documents, including Delivery Challans, Invoices, E-way Bills, and LR (Lorry Receipts).
- Ensure compliance with GST regulations and other statutory requirements related to goods movement.
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatches, receipts, and transport documents for audit purposes.
Inventory & Warehouse Coordination:
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure accurate picking, packing, and loading of materials.
- Monitor stock levels of finished goods and communicate with production planning to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
- Assist in periodic physical stock verification and reconciliation.
Vendor & Customer Relationship:
- Act as the primary point of contact for transporters, clearing agents, and customers regarding shipment status.
- Resolve any logistics-related issues, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies, in a timely manner.
- Maintain a database of reliable transport vendors and evaluate their performance periodically.
Cost Optimization:
- Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction (e.g., route optimization, consolidation of shipments).
- Prepare freight cost reports and analyze variances against budgets.
Reporting:
- Prepare daily/weekly logistics reports for management, including dispatch status, transit times, and pending orders.
- Maintain MIS records for all logistics activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Any Graduate (B.Com, BBA, BA, B.Sc, or equivalent).
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of proven experience in a logistics, dispatch, or supply chain role, preferably in the Plastics, Chemical, or Manufacturing industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) – must be comfortable with data entry, reports, and spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of E-way bill generation, GST compliance, and transport documentation.
- Familiarity with ERP systems or inventory management software is a plus.
