About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Sarigam. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Electrical Engineering and will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all electrical equipment and machinery used in the production process. This role is critical to minimizing downtime and maintaining uninterrupted manufacturing operations in a GMP-compliant environment.


Key Responsibilities

Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance:

  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical equipment, including motors, control panels, switchgear, transformers, and production machinery (granulators, compression machines, coating pans, filling lines, etc.).
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Perform timely repairs and replacements of defective electrical components.

Equipment Installation & Commissioning:

  • Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Ensure proper electrical wiring, earthing, and connections as per safety and regulatory standards.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure compliance with GMP, statutory, and regulatory requirements (e.g., electricity act, fire safety norms).
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of electrical systems and report any hazards or non-compliances.
  • Maintain proper isolation and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and spare parts inventory records.
  • Prepare and update SOPs for maintenance activities and equipment operation.
  • Document all maintenance work, including parts used, time taken, and root cause analysis for breakdowns.

Spare Parts Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels of critical electrical spare parts and coordinate with the purchase department for timely procurement.
  • Ensure availability of essential spares to reduce mean time to repair (MTTR).

Energy Management:

  • Monitor and optimize power consumption across the plant to improve energy efficiency.
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives and recommend upgrades to reduce operational costs.

Coordination:

  • Coordinate with production and QA departments to schedule maintenance activities without disrupting manufacturing schedules.
  • Liaise with external vendors and service providers for specialized repairs or AMC services.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Diploma in Electrical Engineeringmandatory.
  • Experience: Fresher to 2 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in the Pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of electrical systems, panels, motors, VFDs, PLCs, and control circuits.
    • Knowledge of GMP standards and regulatory compliance in a pharma environment is a plus.
  • Skills: Basic computer proficiency (MS Office) for documentation and reporting.
