Job Purpose
To oversee the design, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of all electrical infrastructure, ensuring reliability, energy efficiency, and compliance with engineering standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and supervise electrical installations (power, lighting, backup generators, distribution boards) for new and existing buildings.
- Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for electrical systems.
- Prepare budgets, cost estimates, and tender documents for electrical projects.
- Supervise contractors and ensure quality assurance on all engineering projects.
- Drive energy conservation and sustainability initiatives (e.g., solar integration).
- Ensure compliance with Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) regulations and international safety codes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Professional registration with the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE) is required.
- Engineer: 3–5 years’ experience.
- Senior Engineer: 6–9 years’ experience.
- Principal Engineer: 10–14 years’ experience.
- Chief Engineer: 15+ years of experience with proven leadership in major projects.
Core Competencies
- Strong project management and technical diagnostic skills.
- Proficiency in Auto-CAD and electrical simulation software.
- Ability to manage large-scale infrastructure budgets.
