Job Description:
A Production Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations, improving production processes, ensuring product quality, managing engineering teams, and achieving production targets safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily production engineering activities.
Improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Lead and mentor production engineers and technicians.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Analyze production data and implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
Coordinate with design, quality, maintenance, procurement, and supply chain teams.
Plan equipment maintenance and optimize machine utilization.
Solve production issues and minimize downtime.
Develop production schedules and monitor KPIs.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Leadership and team management.
Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and problem-solving.
Project management.
Budget and resource planning.
Communication and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering (Master's degree is a plus).
Typically 5–10+ years of experience in manufacturing or production engineering, with leadership experience
