Job Purpose:
The Stores Officer is responsible for managing the airline's inventory, including receiving, storing, and issuing materials, parts, and equipment. This role ensures accurate stock records, efficient warehouse operations, and strict compliance with aviation safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Receive, inspect, and record all incoming goods and materials.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and organization of inventory in designated areas.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical stock with system records.
- Issuance & Distribution:
- Issue materials and parts to various departments upon approved requisitions.
- Maintain accurate records of all stock movements (in/out) using the company's inventory management system.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and issuances.
- Ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations and internal warehouse policies.
- Assist in preparing reports on stock levels, consumption, and discrepancies.
- Warehouse Operations:
- Ensure the storeroom is clean, organized, and secure at all times.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
- Identify and report any damaged or expired items for proper disposal or return.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Prior experience in storekeeping, inventory management, or warehouse operations is preferred. Experience in the aviation industry is an added advantage.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Strong knowledge of stock control procedures and documentation.
