WAREHOUSE MANAGER

 ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a proactive, organised and results-oriented Warehouse Manager to oversee the company’s day-to-day warehouse operations and ensure the efficient, accurate and timely movement of goods and materials.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse staff, maintaining effective inventory and stock control systems, coordinating with suppliers and internal departments, and ensuring that all warehouse activities are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with established quality standards.

The ideal candidate should have strong organisational and leadership skills, good attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Warehouse Operations Management

• Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of goods.
• Supervise, coordinate and provide direction to warehouse staff.
• Allocate tasks and ensure that warehouse activities are completed efficiently and on schedule.
• Ensure proper organisation and utilisation of warehouse space.
• Monitor the movement of goods and materials in and out of the warehouse.
• Ensure proper documentation of all warehouse transactions.
• Coordinate loading and unloading activities while ensuring the safe handling of goods.

2. Inventory & Stock Control

• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper stock control.
• Monitor stock levels and identify shortages, excesses or slow-moving items.
• Conduct regular stock counts, reconciliations and inventory audits.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical stock and inventory records.
• Implement effective procedures to minimise stock losses, damage, wastage and theft.
• Ensure goods are properly labelled, stored and accounted for.
• Monitor expiry dates and product conditions where applicable.

3. Supplier & Internal Coordination

• Coordinate with suppliers regarding deliveries, schedules, quantities and quality of goods received.
• Liaise with procurement, finance, sales, operations and other internal departments to ensure smooth flow of materials.
• Verify deliveries against purchase orders, invoices and relevant documentation.
• Report damaged, missing or incorrect items to the appropriate teams.
• Ensure timely availability of materials required for business operations.
• Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders.

4. Health, Safety & Quality Management

• Ensure the warehouse is maintained in a clean, safe and organised condition.
• Enforce health and safety procedures among warehouse employees.
• Ensure appropriate handling, storage and movement of goods.
• Identify potential workplace hazards and take appropriate corrective action.
• Ensure warehouse equipment is used safely and maintained appropriately.
• Support compliance with company policies, quality standards and applicable regulations.
• Report accidents, incidents, damages and other safety or operational concerns promptly.

5. Efficiency & Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement practical systems for improving stock accuracy and warehouse productivity.
• Monitor warehouse performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Reduce unnecessary operational costs, stock losses and wastage.
• Introduce improved inventory management and warehouse organisation practices.
• Monitor key warehouse performance indicators and provide recommendations to management.

6. Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, warehouse activities and stock movements.
• Maintain accurate records of receipts, issues, transfers, returns and dispatches.
• Provide management with updates on warehouse performance and operational challenges.
• Track stock variances and recommend corrective measures.
• Ensure all warehouse documentation is properly maintained and readily accessible.

MAIN REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate should have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management or a related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in warehouse management, inventory control, logistics or supply chain operations.
• Previous experience supervising warehouse staff will be an advantage.
• Good understanding of inventory and stock control principles.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Good knowledge of warehouse operations and processes.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Good Microsoft Excel and computer skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
• High level of integrity, accountability and professionalism.
