Underground Mining Alliance Akyem (UMAA) is a Joint Venture between African Underground Mining Services Limited (AUMS) and Rocksure International carrying out underground development and production works for the AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine.
UMAA is seeking to employ a qualified and experienced person to fill the position of Surface Driver.
This is an Obuasi-based Fixed Term Contract position with a competitive work roster at its operations in Obuasi. The remuneration package includes an attractive salary and performance-based incentive payments for the right candidate.

Position
Surface Driver
The Surface Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient and timely transportation of employees, visitors, materials and company equipment in accordance with company policies, road traffic regulations and safety standards. The role requires a high level of professionalism, excellent driving skills and commitment to maintaining company vehicles in good working condition.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely transport employees, visitors and authorised personnel to and from designated locations.
- Operate company vehicles in compliance with road traffic regulations and company driving standards.
- Conduct daily pre-start and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, roadworthy and properly maintained at all times.
- Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks, fuel records and trip reports.
- Assist with the transportation and delivery of company materials, equipment and documents as assigned.
- Observe defensive driving practices and comply with all Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) requirements.
- Report accidents, incidents, traffic violations or vehicle breakdowns immediately.
- Ensure all required vehicle documentation, licenses and insurance remain valid and available.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Transport Supervisor or Management.
