Job Summary:
We are looking for a hardworking and safety-conscious Waste Sorter to join our waste management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for manually sorting waste materials to ensure proper recycling and disposal in compliance with environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manually sort incoming waste materials (plastics, paper, glass, metals) on a conveyor belt or sorting floor.
- Identify and remove hazardous or non-recyclable materials from the sorting line.
- Operate basic sorting machinery and equipment safely (if required).
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the sorting area.
- Follow strict health and safety guidelines to prevent injury and exposure to hazardous materials.
- Assist in weighing, baling, and loading sorted materials for transport.
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- No formal education required, but basic literacy is an advantage.
- Prior experience in waste management, recycling, or a similar industrial environment is preferred.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and handle heavy materials.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and potentially dusty environment.
- Strong awareness of safety procedures and a commitment to workplace safety.
