As Business Development Manager (Hunter), you'll take ownership of new business growth across Ghana and the broader West African region. You'll proactively identify and engage prospective customers, build a strong product pipeline, represent Deswik in market and convert qualified leads into meaningful commercial opportunities.

This is a highly visible, hands-on sales role for someone who enjoys opening doors, creating momentum and building trusted relationships in the mining sector. You will work closely with regional sales, technical and consulting teams to understand customer needs, position Deswik's software and consulting solutions, prepare compelling proposals and support customers through the full sales cycle.

What you’ll do

• Drive new business growth by actively identifying, qualifying and pursuing leads across Ghana and West Africa.
• Build, manage and convert a strong sales pipeline, with a clear focus on generating momentum and creating revenue opportunities.
• Develop Deswik's brand presence in market by increasing visibility, attending trade shows and owning regional lead-generation activities.
• Engage prospective customers to understand their operational challenges, business needs and opportunities for Deswik software and consulting solutions.
• Manage and strengthen relationships with existing clients in Ghana, identifying renewal, licences usage and upsell opportunities where there is a clear customer need.
• Prepare proposals, support commercial discussions and work with internal teams to convert opportunities into successful customer outcomes.
• Partner with consulting, software and regional sales teams to deliver demonstrations, presentations, online training and customer support activities.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients across Ghana and West Africa, helping build long-term trust and confidence in Deswik.
• Participate in training in Johannesburg and apply your product, market and customer knowledge to support regional growth.
• Work independently with focus and accountability, while staying connected to Deswik's broader global sales and technical network.
  
  

What you’ll bring

• Strong business development or sales experience in mining software, mining technology or a closely related technical solutions environment.
• A proven hunting mindset, with the confidence to generate leads, open new conversations, build pipeline and convert opportunities.
• Solid understanding of mining operations, software solutions and the value technology can deliver to mining customers.
• A mining engineering background will be highly regarded, particularly when combined with software or technology sales experience.
• Established relationship-building skills, with the ability to gain trust and engage professionally with customers and stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness, proposal capability and the ability to align solutions to customer needs and business outcomes.
• Fluency in English is required; French language capability would be an advantage for regional engagement.
• A proactive, resilient and self-driven working style, with the focus to succeed in a role that requires independence and initiative.
• At least five years' relevant experience, with the stability and commitment to build a long-term career with Deswik.
• A practical, professional and collaborative approach, with the flexibility to work in a hybrid environment while staying accountable for outcomes.
