Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), a leading tertiary healthcare institution in Ghana, is seeking a highly qualified, experienced, and results-driven professional to fill the position of Director of Human Resource Management.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and professional direction for the hospital’s human resource operations, ensuring effective workforce planning, staff development, policy implementation, and overall employee management.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership and direction for the hospital’s Human Resource Management function.
* Develop, review, and implement HR policies, guidelines, and operational procedures.
* Advise the Chief Executive Officer on workforce planning, recruitment, staff placement, retention, and employee development.
* Oversee the hospital’s Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and maintain accurate, secure personnel records.
* Monitor HR performance, departmental workflows, and organizational structures.
* Prepare departmental budgets, operational reports, and management briefs.
* Develop and coordinate staff training, professional development, and talent management programmes.
* Oversee study leave, fellowship awards, and other professional development opportunities.
* Support the hospital’s medium- and long-term strategic plans through effective human resource management.
* Develop employee welfare initiatives and incentive programmes to enhance staff performance and satisfaction.
Qualifications and Requirements
Interested applicants must meet the following requirements:
* Be a senior professional currently on the Government of Ghana payroll, with at least five (5) years of active service at the level of Principal Human Resource Manager or above.
* Possess a Master’s degree or higher qualification in Human Resource Management or an equivalent relevant qualification.
* Be a registered member in good standing of a recognized professional body relevant to the field.
* Have at least twelve (12) years of dedicated working experience in Human Resource Management.
* Have a minimum of five (5) years of post-graduate qualification experience in a management or supervisory role.
* Demonstrate strong leadership, strategic planning, decision-making, and organizational management skills.
* Have a proven commitment to continuous professional development and advanced management training.
* Be able to complete the full four-year contract before reaching the statutory retirement age.
Appointment Conditions
The successful candidate will be appointed on a four-year fixed-term contract and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
