QUALIFICATION, COMPETENCE & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of Intermediate MVT/MET/EET
- Minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience in heavy duty earthmoving mining and construction machinery
- Must have at least Ghanaian driver's license CE
- Knowledge of Caterpillar tracked equipment and mechanical systems
- A good knowledge of Cat ET and SIS is essential
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on CAT MD6200 drills and related equipment to ensure reliability and operational performance
- Execute component replacements, adjustments, rebuilds, and machine repairs in line with OEM and company standards
2. Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and hydraulic faults using Caterpillar diagnostic tools, service manuals, and technical documentation
- Identify equipment issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions
3. Inspection & Reliability Management
- Conduct detailed equipment inspections and condition assessments
- Prepare technical reports and maintenance recommendations to support reliability improvement and maintenance planning activities
4. Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations, environmental requirements, site procedures, and company standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times
5. Documentation & Maintenance Reporting
- Accurately complete work orders, service reports, inspection records, and maintenance documentation within the maintenance management system
- Ensure all maintenance activities are properly recorded and communicated
6. Collaboration, Training & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with maintenance, reliability, planning, and field service teams to maximize equipment availability and performance
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical coaching and knowledge transfer to technicians, apprentices, and junior employees
