About the Role
Newmont is seeking a driven and experienced Engineer to lead and support various capital and operational projects at our Ahafo mine. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of assigned engineering projects, including scope definition, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
- Prepare project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation plans.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and engineering standards.
- Review technical designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Provide regular project status reports to management and key stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mining, or Civil).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of project engineering experience, preferably within the mining or heavy industrial sector.
- Professional Engineering (PE) certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and budgeting.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
