About the Role
Newmont is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance, repair, and servicing of auxiliary mining equipment (such as light vehicles, forklifts, cranes, pumps, and generators) to ensure minimal operational downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on auxiliary equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults efficiently.
- Conduct thorough inspections and provide detailed technical reports on equipment conditions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using the company's CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Adhere strictly to Newmont's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team and operations personnel to prioritize workflow.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Trade Certification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience maintaining auxiliary or heavy equipment, preferably in a mining environment.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
