Job Summary:
The E & I Supervisor - Winder is responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of all Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) systems associated with the shaft winders. This includes drive systems, safety circuits, control logic, and braking systems to ensure zero-harm hoisting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Lead and manage a team of Winder Electricians and Instrumentation Technicians.
- Winder Maintenance: Oversee scheduled examinations, repairs, and statutory testing of winder electrical systems (motors, transformers, converters, and safety devices).
- Fault Finding: Act as the primary technical resource for diagnosing and rectifying winder breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Safety Critical: Ensure all safety interlocks, over-speed devices, and Lilly controllers are functional and tested as per legal requirements.
- Planning: Coordinate with planning departments to schedule maintenance windows without impacting production targets.
- Reporting: Maintain logbooks and report on equipment health and spares requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or relevant Trade Test (Electrician).
- Wireman’s License or Master Installation Electrician qualification is advantageous.
- 5+ years of experience in Winder maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Deep understanding of Winder Safety Circuits and statutory requirements.
