Job Summary:
The Electrical Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical equipment and installations throughout the plant and underground workings, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Repair: Install, maintain, and repair electrical motors, switchgear, cables, and lighting systems.
- Fault Finding: Diagnose electrical faults using multimeters, insulation testers, and schematic diagrams.
- Compliance: Ensure all electrical work complies with statutory regulations and company standards.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct scheduled inspections on electrical equipment to prevent unplanned downtime.
- Reporting: Complete job cards and report on equipment status.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Trade Test Certificate (Electrician).
- N3 or NCV Level 4 in Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years of post-trade experience in a mining or heavy industrial setting.
- Knowledge of VSDs, soft starters, and motor control logic.
