JOB SUMMARY
Our client in the soap/detergent manufacturing industry is seeking a Production Line Supervisor
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate line operators to achieve daily production targets.
- Monitor production performance, including output, downtime, waste, and take corrective action.
- Ensure efficient operation of production machinery and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
- Escalate major equipment breakdowns to the maintenance/engineering team.
- Enforce GMP and quality standards and conduct regular product quality checks.
- Maintain accurate batch records, production logs, and quality documentation.
- Ensure operators follow PPE, safety, chemical handling, and other safety procedures.
- Conduct safety briefings and report incidents or near misses.
- Train, assign, and supervise operators to ensure adequate staffing and smooth production.
- Prepare hourly, daily, and end-of-shift production reports.
- Communicate material shortages, quality issues, and production delays promptly.
- Identify opportunities to improve line efficiency, reduce waste, and increase yield.
- Participate in Lean/5S initiatives and recommend process or equipment improvements.
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years' manufacturing experience, preferably in FMCG, chemicals, or soap/detergent manufacturing.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory or team-lead experience.
- Strong understanding of production line operations in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.
- Hands on experience with production machinery such as mixers, conveyors, labeling, and packaging systems.
- Knowledge of batch processing, quality control, and safety standards.
- Familiar with root cause analysis techniques such as 5 Whys.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to motivate teams and communicate effectively with operators and management.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and process adherence.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and rotating shift requirements.
